COVID-19: new lockdown grants announced

Chancellor Rishi Sunak has this morning announced a new grants package available for businesses in the retail, hospitality and leisure sectors. These grants are one-off, top up grants and will be available to businesses that are closed as a result of the latest lockdown.

The grants available are staggered depending on the rateable value of each business as follows:

  • £4,000 for businesses with a rateable value of £15,000 or under

  • £6,000 for businesses with a rateable value between £15,000 and £51,000

  • £9,000 for businesses with a rateable value exceeding £51,000

The grants are available on a per-property basis.

Full details can be found here.

If your business is eligible for the grant, applications are to be carried out via your local council.
