COVID-19: SEISS extended

The self-employment income support scheme has been extended, with individuals being able to claim a second and final grant in August.

Those who did not make a claim for the first grant will be able to make a claim (if eligible).

If you make a claim for the second grant, you will have to confirm that your business has been adversely affected by Coronavirus on or after 14 July.

The taxable grant will be paid in a single instalment as before, but will be capped at £6,750 - a reduction from the £7,500 upper limit cap applicable to the first grant.

Full details can be found on the Government website here.

At present, the online service to make the second grant is not yet available - please keep an eye out on our website for updates as and when they happen.

Note that, as with the first grant, you will have to make the claim yourself. HMRC has specifically stated that accountants and tax advisors can not process the claims of behalf of clients.
